Editorial Standards

Editorial Policy

Last updated: 1 June 2026

This Editorial Policy sets out the standards that govern all content published on ASX News Network. Our readers trust us to provide accurate, fair, and independent financial news — this policy explains how we deliver on that commitment.

1. Core Editorial Principles

Every piece of content published on ASX News Network is guided by the following principles:

Accuracy

We verify information from primary sources before publishing. Facts are checked against official ASX announcements, company filings, and authoritative data.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made entirely by our editorial team, free from commercial, advertiser, or third-party influence.

Fairness

We present information in a balanced and fair manner, giving relevant parties the opportunity to respond where appropriate.

Transparency

We disclose the nature of our content, our sources where possible, and any corrections or updates to previously published material.

Accountability

We take responsibility for our content and respond to legitimate complaints and correction requests in good faith.

Timeliness

We aim to publish market news as quickly as possible while maintaining our accuracy standards.

2. Editorial Independence

ASX News Network operates with complete editorial independence from commercial interests. Our editorial team makes all decisions about what to cover, how to cover it, and what conclusions to draw — without influence from advertisers, sponsors, investors, or other commercial stakeholders.

Commercial content (advertising, sponsored posts) is strictly separated from editorial content and is clearly labelled. Advertisers receive no input into or advance notice of editorial coverage of their companies or competitors.

3. Sources & Verification

Primary Sources

We prioritise official, primary sources for all factual claims, including:

  • ASX announcements and company releases (via the ASX Market Announcements Platform)
  • ASIC filings and regulatory notices
  • Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) statements and publications
  • Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data
  • Company annual reports, half-year reports, and investor presentations
  • Earnings calls and AGM transcripts

Attribution

We attribute information to its source. Where a source requests anonymity, we will only grant this if there is a compelling journalistic reason and we are satisfied as to the reliability of the information.

Market Data

Market prices and index data are sourced from licensed providers and may be delayed. We do not provide real-time trading data.

4. Types of Content

We publish the following types of content, each with distinct standards:

  • News articles: Factual reporting of ASX-related events, based on verified information from primary sources.
  • Analysis & commentary: Opinion and analysis by our editorial team or named contributors, clearly identified as such. Reflects the views of the author, not necessarily ASX News Network.
  • Company profiles: Informational profiles of ASX-listed companies, based on publicly available information.
  • Market roundups: Summaries of market activity compiled from public data sources.
  • Sponsored content: Clearly labelled paid content. See Section 7.

5. Conflicts of Interest

Our editorial team is required to disclose any personal financial interest in companies they write about. Where a material conflict of interest exists:

  • The conflict will be disclosed at the bottom of the relevant article
  • The writer may be reassigned to avoid covering that company

ASX News Network staff are prohibited from trading on non-public information or from allowing personal financial positions to influence editorial coverage.

Transparency Statement: Our journalists may hold positions in ASX-listed securities. Such holdings are disclosed in relevant articles. Editorial decisions are never based on personal financial interests.

6. Corrections Policy

We are committed to correcting factual errors promptly and transparently.

How We Handle Corrections

  • Significant factual errors are corrected promptly with a clear note added to the article indicating what was changed and when
  • Minor typographical errors may be corrected silently
  • We do not delete published articles to conceal errors; corrections are made transparently in-place
  • Opinion pieces are not altered after publication except for factual corrections

Requesting a Correction

If you believe we have published inaccurate information, please contact our editorial team at editorial@asxnewsnetwork.com with details of the alleged inaccuracy and any supporting evidence. We will investigate and respond within 5 business days.

ASX News Network may publish sponsored or commercial content. All such content is:

  • Clearly labelled as "Sponsored Content", "Partner Content", or "Advertisement"
  • Visually distinct from editorial content
  • Reviewed to ensure it meets basic accuracy standards and does not contain misleading claims
  • Subject to our standard financial disclaimer — sponsored content is also not financial advice

Sponsored content does not reflect the editorial views of ASX News Network.

8. Use of AI & Automation

ASX News Network may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with certain content tasks including data summarisation, headline drafting, and research assistance. Where AI tools are used:

  • All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human editorial team member before publication
  • Factual claims in AI-assisted content are verified against primary sources
  • AI tools are not used to generate fabricated quotes, sources, or data

9. Regulatory & Legal Standards

Our editorial content complies with applicable Australian laws including the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and ASX Market Rules. We do not publish content that could constitute market manipulation, insider information disclosure, or misleading and deceptive conduct under the Australian Consumer Law.

Press releases and company announcements are published as informational content only and do not constitute an endorsement of the company or its claims.

10. Complaints

If you have a complaint about our editorial content, please contact us:

We will acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and aim to resolve them within 10 business days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may refer your complaint to the Australian Press Council or ASIC where applicable.
